SoundSoap Pro was honored to receive the 2008 STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award, presented by the editorial staff of TV Technology magazine at the NAB 2008 convention. The STAR Award is designed to celebrate and showcase the outstanding technological innovations available to the broadcast industry. Last month, the broadcasting world descended on Las Vegas to check out the latest gear. BIAS was there, showing Peak Pro and Peak LE 6 for the first time in the US since releasing the product at Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany. Attendees loved the sleek new interface, and the amazing new features. BIAS product specialists demonstrated Peak 6 — along with SoundSoap, SoundSoap Pro, and the Master Perfection Suite — in an exciting post-production workflow context.

You're deep into an important editing session, and need to keep the pace going, as you have a ton of editing to get done. Here's a quick and easy way to speed up custom fades.

1. Select the audio you wish to fade in or out — in this example we'll fade in the beginning of this audio file.	2. Hold down the Option key and click the Fade In button on the Toolbar — or choose the menu command.	3. To customize the fade in, simply click in the window, and a new breakpoint will appear along the fade envelope.	4. Save your custom fade in the Peak Envelopes folder, and it will appear right in the fade type menu!

Wondering how to create MP2 or MP3 files with Peak 6? It's as easy as any other file format once you've installed the encoders — here's how to do it:

Click here to download the MP2 & MP3 encoders.
Select the Peak application in the Finder.
Choose "Get Info" from the File Menu.
Click the "Add" button in the Plug-Ins section of the Info window.
Locate and select the downloaded encoders in the Finder.
Click the "Choose" button in the Info window.
Launch Peak — MP2 and MP3 are now available when saving!
