WiFi connection not recognized

Postby tngascho on Mon Jan 03, 2011 4:35 am

my iPod has an active WiFi connection but iProRecorder does not recognize it. What do I need to do to cause the application to recognize my WiFi connection?

I am having the same problem. iPhone with an iMac. Both connected to the same router. Sometimes I get the browser URL and can easily download recordings. Other times I get the message "This feature requires a Wi-Fi connection - check your connection to access this feature."

In both cases both the iMac and iPhone are connected to the wirelesses router / networked, and I can not figure out what the variable is that makes or breaks the connection.

As suggested in another post, I created a virtual network from my iMac and connected my iPhone directly to the iMac Wi-Fi. Creating the network and connecting the iPhone worked flawlessly, but no effect on iProRecorder.

I still get the error message "This feature requires a Wi-Fi connection - check your connection to access this feature." iProRecorder simply will NOT provide a URL (it has provided a URL in the past, though not consistently).

I tried looking for a link under the Bookmark-Bonjour list, as suggested in another post. Nothing there except a link to my Tivo and laser Printer.

Tried rebooting as well. No joy. Feedback please!

I sent a message to the iProRecorder support, and while I received no human response, an automated response included the suggestion that I power down my iPhone and reboot.

After rebooting the iPhone (I had tried the iMac only), when launching iProRecorder it appeared to be a fresh boot of iProRecorder and then I was able to get a URL/Bonjour connection.

So it is working now, and the bug appears to be iProRecorder gets hung in some way and needs a fresh boot to connect. Shouldn't have to dig so deep for such a simple answer...

Sorry for the delay. I'm glad you were able to find a solution. We are not certain at this time whether the issue relates to iProRecorder specifically, the OS, or the Bonjour protocol. I have asked development to look into the matter to see what may be causing the issue. Your patience is much appreciated and I again apologize that we didn't provide a response sooner on the forum.

I was having the same issues. A reboot (hold both the top "On/Off Button" and the front "Home" button for 10 seconds [note: it will say "Power Off" but ignore this and continue holding the buttons]) fixed the problems! I'm sharing quite efficiently on my network now.

Thanks for the fix pmcneel!

I have the same issue, so how exactly do you get the app to do anything with the file, this is frustrating.

Rebooted, the device, was able to see a connection, but the device never responded.

Tried to email, recording, failed,

Tried again, said it uploaded, but then never received an email.

Tried Bonjour, showed screen but would not connect.

Can I ask why this has to be difficult? I do not understand why this is not an itunes default file

after one hour of trying to get a connection I did get a connection, but when I tried to download the file, I got a message stating that the address was not accessible, or was not responding, I had to reboot the device again.

Still no joy, I feel like I am fighting with my device to do something as simple as remove a file so that I can use it, this is so frustrating,
